My ideal decentralized social media is something that looks like a toaster sitting in my house. It controls my data, my ACLs, handles the P2P syncing because it’s always online (if I don’t turn it off). It even helps provide data backups for my friends (in a privacy preserving manner).

Urbit? Almost. Solid or Nextcloud? Clueless. ActivityPub? Maybe. Pubky? Maybe.

Everyone seems to just lack the vision idk.
