I enjoyed them for a while but haven’t used lately. Physical books are just so much better… IMO. nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s had a massive one for reading technical papers back in the day he used quite a lot though

Physical books feel nicer but buying an ereader is totally worth it. Getting ebooks is cheap/free and you can travel with it.

We have the Kobo readers. They never get connected to the internet. I use Calibre to manage the books and to strip DRM.

Had a couple of them down through the years but I still love the feel of a paper book in my hands better.

I have a Kobo Libra 2. You can set it up to sync with calibre/calibre-web. It’s a dedicated reader (not an e-ink Android tablet), has a good size screen, isn’t an Amazon device, and is very customizable.

I owned a Sony one and 3 Kindles over a decade. All of which are now either dead or collecting dust. Physical books are just better thorough and thorough.

Don't buy kindle if nomad you can't buy books when outside your "home" country, also google play books is just easier and you always have the phone on you, so you end up reading more often. Also physical books are nicer when not travelling but you can't upload it to AI to talk with it.
