I still think generating entropy can be securely done. What wasn't done correctly, imo, was shilling the everloving fuck out of a product made by a man who fought against the values of open source development with all his might.

That was what I did incorrectly in any case.

You "think". Why even take the risk. I'm not even sure it's possible to verify if the entropy was correctly generated when you have it done by device. Might as well take no chance and do it by hand.
