The Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (1886), which plays a fundamental role in the global protection of authorship- and copyrights needs an update. A simple one. That excludes any output of LLMs and Machine Learning access to any form of protection. Instead they should be declared public domain, no exceptions. No amount of transformation by humans should give way to protection. This should be a global rule.
