I live in Germany, and we can buy devices from a company called "tolino". They are similar to kindles, but more open. Maybe that is an alternative. But anyways, great and helpful video, especially if you already own a kindle.

Or just don't buy that Amazon crap, and get a normal ebook reader like Onyx Boox Page
