Before Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt came out, I was actually excited for it. At the time, I liked Tina Fey. It's hard to remember now, but I did.

I thought, oh cool! A comedy about survivors of a religious cult trying to adjust to living in the world! It may be a sensitive topic, but it's filled with opportunity for dark comedy.

Turned out the show was about pointing & laughing at the experience of religious abuse.

It's hard to believe that I was excited for that, knowing now what that show was, but... I do resent Fey for that. There is PLENTY of fucking humor to find in the subject of that show, but it would take empathy & making the effort to listen to other people to find that humor. Pointing & laughing ...
