@nprofile1q... at an ad agency I was at as an intern, a graphic designer asked me to illustrate his children's book idea. I quoted him 4k. Later on the in-house illustrator lectured me, it's better to go lower pay than no pay. :/ Maybe he has to, but I was not that desperate for the job and I have been lowballing all my life. The whole industry has been sucked dry and beaten with a mace.
