That sounds awfully similar to what we see here, especially with defence. There has been a much delayed spending plan which promoted the defence minister to resign a few weeks ago, and the “leaked” details don’t really inspire confidence. There is a lot of talk of renationalising various industries - it is happening with rail - but that “privatisation” was in name only as the government still controlled fares, track etc. The biggest hurdle we probably have is the suicidal energy policy which destroys usable land for inefficient generation. Then when the solar farms reach end of life, they immediately become brownfield sites prime for development, as long as the ground is not too poisonous.
