What was your final solution? I think it was cake wallet, but I'm sure others would love to know.

Small upgrade worth making: receive on subaddresses instead of your main one. With XMR nobody can see your balance anyway, but subaddresses stop different payers from correlating repeat payments to the same identity. Cake generates them in the receive screen, takes about ten seconds.
