@utxo the webmaster 🧑💻 First off—really enjoying the direction
#Wisp is going. A few things that immediately stood out as working well:
• The ability to add custom zap messages (and zap anonymously) is excellent. That’s a really nice touch and feels very “Nostr-native.”
• Overall the client feels fast and lightweight, which makes it pleasant to use.
A few questions / suggestions while using it:
• Are bookmark lists private by default?
• When tagging someone in a post, it shows me the raw link but doesn't resolve to their name like with Amethyst. Resolving to the name is a nice UX touch that helps keep things visually in order.
• Video autoplay. I actually think this should be the default, or at the very least a setting users can enable. Since videos don’t fill the screen (especially vertical ones), having to manually hit play each time feels unnecessary. Right now vertical videos show with black bars on the sides until you tap play and go full screen. Ideally these should auto-format so the video displays properly in the feed.
• Add support for a blank-space custom emoji for reactions. An “empty” reaction can surprisingly be an effective intentional signal.
• When reacting to the original post inside a repost (the nested post), the emoji selection options change from my configured reactions. It also isn’t possible to react to the nested post directly from the feed—I have to tap into the post first. Ideally reactions should use the same emoji set and allow reacting to the nested post directly from the timeline.
A couple usability issues I noticed:
• When sharing a photo directly from Google Photos, the Wisp app does not appear in the share sheet. This makes it more difficult to add media quickly.
• The app still doesn’t appear as a default option when tapping Connect to use Nostr Wallet Connect, which means it requires copy-pasting the connection string instead of opening directly with a wallet like CoinOS.
Overall though—really promising client. Looking forward to seeing where you take it.
I can provide screenshots if helpful.
Looking forward to your reply :)
