Another weird thing about this section on ethnic minorities in Iran & the human rights abuses they face.

On page 2 of the book, in the introduction, Benjamin opens a paragraph: "Iranians, we learned, revere their Persian heritage & culture; they want you to know they are not Arabs."

I underlined this because I thought it was very curious to not mention ethnic minorities when "introducing" the Iranian people. Yes, the majority are Persian. Weird not to mention the existence of others though.

Later in the same paragraph she says "Yes, they are Muslims, & overwhelmingly Shia Muslims, but they celebrate ancient Zoroastrian holidays—to the dismay of conservative clerics." This paragraph is describing "Iranians," & she says "they are Muslims" as though that can be said as a blanket statem...
