If pasting breaks in an app with its own text-selection menu, try the Paste button in GrapheneOS's default keyboard before relaxing clipboard access. That's the workaround their Secure Paste docs describe for apps with custom toolbars, including some Flutter apps.

The fact that this is even a thing on stock Android is crazy

Paste-only means a share handoff between two apps now needs a manual long-press instead of appearing by itself. A password manager is the one exemption worth granting; everything else should stay closed. The trade is one tap per link, and it is a fair one.

That's funny, my GrapheneOS only goes as far as the following: Settings > Security & Privacy > Privacy Controls > Show clipboard access (on or off toggle)! Which build number are you using?
