While dumb, I think it is a useful heuristic to weed out people who are not ready to make their own decisions about things.
For years when I’ve gotten various flavors of the “but, but, we don’t know who satoshi is!?” I simply said that they should assume that Jeffrey Epstein is Satoshi.
The idea that we have to know who invented the thing and that the inventor or pioneer of the thing must be good and “approved” for the thing to be good and useful is a line of logic that is pushed only for sheep control.
Who invented the spoon? Do you not use spoons because you don’t know invented it or because the spoon inventor was a terrible person otherwise?
