i agree, it's not an exclusive property of China, it's western politicians and industry leaders who made the strategic decision to oursource everything. Other places could have the role of China as an outsourcing destination today.
What does seem to be coming from China though, is this push for technology and technocracy. It really kicked into gear with Covid, when QR codes and smartphone-app-dependent solutions were popping up all over the west (including contact tracing apps using near field/Bluetooth and such things).
Not one day goes by without some new technology achievement being paraded on the internet, like "China presents a robot that is capable of ...", "China unveils new supercomputer..." "China presents 90% autonomous drone" ... it never ends, and I'm sick and tired of it. I want to be left alone by any technology China pushes, it's not my problem (even though western politicians and CEO seem to think so and seem to think they are in a hard-to-win technology "race" against China). This was the meaning of my original post. F*** China and Xi and their never ending technological progress.
