@Soylent Groyp @Hoss "Sneed (Formerly Chuck)” Delgado I wasn't talking about any Western countries in my previous post. The idea of outsourcing everything was there to start off with. If not to China, then were there any roadblocks for, say, any SEA country to become the world's tie and footwear importer instead?

i agree, it's not an exclusive property of China, it's western politicians and industry leaders who made the strategic decision to oursource everything. Other places could have the role of China as an outsourcing destination today. What does seem to be coming from China though, is this push for tech...
