I usually follow anyone who interacts (boosts, faves, replies) with my toots.

I think (maybe naively) if they liked what I wrote. I should reciprocate and see what they toot about. It is very likely I will like something they post.

I also think (for sure naively) that if I follow them maybe they will follow back. AND... this is the most naive of all thoughts... maybe I can get to be friends with this random online person on the internet.
