Women like me (over 40s) are having more kids than teens (under 20s) are, and the gap is significant and rising. More than half of births are to women in their 30s, and that tendency is also rising.

I suspect it's a lot of mothers, like me, deciding to have more kids. Often because of a new (often much younger) boyfriend who doesn't have any children, who picked her out specifically because she has proven fertility. (Or, as they say here, he doesn't want to "buy the cat in the bag".)
