@nprofile1q... @navi Yeah, you can't use getopt to parse it entirely, so either you break your while-getopt loop with a branch before the getopt call, or parse the options manually.

For my own head(1) (same nonsense, and I don't have a kill(1), too OS-specific until str2sig(3) lands in implementations) I've opted into branching before getopt: https://hacktivis.me/git/utils-std/file/cmd/head.c.html#l232
