Nostr is different 🫡

hopefully that friction doesn't last forever. it's mostly fine now as we build the technical layers, however as the user experience improves over time, i believe we'll see more tools for people that just want to roll their faces on their keyboards and be social.

100% Good UX is bad for bitcoin

Gm sir!

tldr please

You better believe it. Took me a few months to warm up to it but I’m all in now!

Welcome! You should host a nostrnest. It’s the equivalent of spaces on X.

Tbh that’s an interesting take 👍👍

mention it on your show! no one knows about nostr lol

Yep, you've come to the right place doc. And there is a thriving carnivore community here. One of my favorite things about Nostr.

Happy to have you here!

Same with Bitcoin; they’re filters.

PoW all the way

Real conversations with real people and people don’t have to prove that they’re people with id’s, phone numbers, emails, etc on this protocol vs most platforms out there.

Amen. It's a built in filter

💯

I love that I have to explicitly determine who's notes I see. Other than boosts from people I follow, I see only content I've chosen to see. No algorithms is beautiful. It shows just how important it is to get the incentives right.

SHHHHhhhhhhhh....... Don't make it sound attractive....

The noise is the signal

Wait till #tardstr or #danstr takes over for a day lolz Whatever the case, it is usually positive vibes here

It is my favorite feature

Seems like the process selects for a certain type of person for sure welcome!

It would be interesting to see if there really is a difference in IQ between users of X and Nostr-Users. 😁

It was the same with Bitcoin. Only, it was very, very expensive for those who didn't make the effort 😅

Hell yeah, doc, it's high signal here.

Good point! Been following your stuff for years btw 👍

I see a lot of the fake woke pretentious type right now NOSTR feels like Los Angeles … where is New York?

Or said another way, & a key design aspect to Bitcoin, “proof-of-work” is a thing people value

It's very true. Things being a bit inconvenient and unintuitive is a feature 💜

These bots are getting damned clever.

we could use a few clown tho ... amirite ?

Yes!!

Yes! People will sacrifice privacy just to be able to click one button. It’s not hard to copy and paste a key!

lol that’s true. Like charging an entrance fee

Same here. Its not even that hard to understand #nostr and they can’t even be bothered to try it out

Yep I’ve noticed the same. It’s a natural gatekeeper of sorts.

Welcome! Glad to have you.

I hope it's not long, until more solid businesses realize here are some of the best customers and businesspartners.

Just like the Gulch back home!

Doesn’t keep all the lazy out. I’m as lazy as a MF.

And You’ve only found 24 people here to follow? 🧐
