I believe most people who claim to be lactose intolerant are actually allergic to the proteins in milk, not the lactose. Or just straight up hypochondriacs.

Because every person I've met that claims to be lactose intolerant says that cheese upsets their stomach when cheese does not contain lactose.

And majority of these people seem to have absolutely no issues from drinking small amounts of milk, but even a small piece of cheese gives them diarrhoea?

I'm specifically talking about Europeans.

Obviously populations that don't have the genes for breaking down lactose into galactose and glucose are going to be lactose intolerant that's a given.

But within European populations I think it's actually the protein that people are struggling to digest properly and the lactose is getting blamed because of tradition and lack of attention from medical professionals.

I wonder how much the "lactose free" dairy industry is worth these days.

I'm seeing yogurts, cheese, butter etc. all being labelled as "lactose free" when these products should not contain lactose anyway.

If a scientist who actually studied this shit came to the same conclusion I have, would they even be able to get their research published?
Who funds the labs testing this stuff?
Usually the same corporations trying to market their products...

Attention-seeking "lactose intolerant" White girl influencers are selling product, not science. Your theory is actually the scientific consensus. I have a family member who is NOT lactose-intolerant, but IS allergic to some dairy milk proteins. Anaphalaxis-level allergic. Trip to ER-level allergic...

There were only two times Lord Rothschild spoke to parliament. Once was the creation of israel. The other was pasteurized milk.
