Ironically, I was working on an edit of my sci fi manuscript on a chapter about how AI-generated video in the future makes it hard to verify almost anything. Hyper-real (yet fake) stuff generated on the spot in seconds.

Then I got interrupted by notifications of my hacker posting a badly-done AI video of me shilling some shitcoin, which Twitter/X fortunately deleted within the hour.

When tech improves just a little bit more to the point of not being obviously fake, this type of stuff is going to be insane.

Yuup. It'll go both ways: the fake stuff pretending to be real and people claiming real stuff was deep faked. "I didn't really say those racial slurs/sexual harassment! It's aaaalll a deep fake! Trust me!"

We need packages that produce hardware-specific signature coupled with something like couopentimestamps.org then you could be reasonably sure content is not faked. surely something like this exists?

Nostr fixes this. Unless for some reason you leak your key, even if the video generation improves 100x, it will be extremely easy to prove what's really something you said and what isn't

I think an after action report on how the perpetrator gained access to your account would be helpful. I tend to think my opsec is pretty good but it's always useful to learn from case studies and stay ahead of the curve!
