With every year that goes by, I’m kind of low-key surprised that North Korea is still a thing.

Third generation dictator, hasn’t been revolution’ed yet, basically the most closed out country in the world.

It’s because of their proximity to Seoul. Even before they had nukes, North Korea had enough conventional artillery pointed at Seoul to inflict massive casualties within hours. That threat aimed at South Korea’s capital and one of our key trade partners in the region has long deterred military a...

You can watch videos on YouTube of people that have recently visited North Korea, and they're talking to the people from North Korea, and they well, most of them say that they wish they can go to Russia. It's weird the way they live, but you know, maybe you should watch the videos.

Yes, it is amazing there are countries that are still free from the international banking cartel and US empire influence. It is a sort of achievement many nations can only dream about.

Basically a China colony. Without China the regime would have vanished. But then again, we still have communist Cuba.

Bitcoin still running, too. Who would've thought.

My explanation is, that its really the most prosperous free country on earth and they just want to keep it for themselves, so they created a narrative that its horrible and suppressive and closed. Then suddenly the filters appear before our eyes and we realize its really the opposite. We, in the w...

Are north Koreans able to do one? When was the last time they overthrown?

I think it benefits all the other states to have such a dystopian country that seems like a cruel joke. This way, they have a very low benchmark to compare themselves to: 'Well Bob, we've further restricted your freedoms and well-being with this emergency decree, but we're not North Korea, after all...

Pretty scary how long tyrants can retain power when they are able to maintain control of guns and speech. Meanwhile the West inches closer to that outcome every year.

Just look at the power dynamics inside the country.

How do you REALLY know though?…what unbiased reporting have you seen about NK?

They’ll be the last nation state to adopt bitcoin so they’ll be able to invade everyone

Apparently, North Korea has some of the world's top-tier hackers capable of emptying Bitcoin wallets, including those owned by centralized exchanges. North Korea is basically the societal, with a few adjustments (ruling class, slave class), and governmental models planned by the World Economic For...

Curious who outside of North Korea is benefiting from this

Crazy take but hear me out: may be they actually want it that way? And who are we to judge?

I agree. The more time passes, the more ridiculous it seems.

Pretty sure I saw a documentary where James Franco killed that guy. What sources are you looking at?

Prob all the hacked sats. Ive been low-key suprised just how much they attack bitcoin stuff. Any honey pot, like an exchange will tell you that. It's to the point where if i see any suspicious activity in our LNbits servers I assume NK. Their hackers are world class.

Ethnic centralization offers a worthy value proposition. Nations will centralize as money decentralizes.

Think about North Korea, Russia, Belarus or Iraq as occupied countries. How many examples of deoccupation-by-revolution do you know? Photo of protests in Belarus just for reference. https://image.nostr.build/fb7ac7c610bd69aaed8cf09299ad0f96dbc731a000c63d0f1d4688d52b40ed4a.jpg

For a country sanctioned by the West for a long time, limited energy and internet access It has trade. It has nuclear power. It has BTC. Media won't touch this - because it shows how sanctions fail. I speculate - it has help from the Swiss.
