When we moved in, one of the (many, many) things the previous owners left behind was a glass jar about a third full of stale peanuts, with the words "for crow" written on the lid.
I left a few nuts ...
@nprofile1q... its possible the other wildlife are wary of cats (even if your cats are well fed and won't bother them), so they prefer the peanuts to be put higher up / in areas where the cats don't go
