Just had an exciting moment that my normie friends will never appreciate.

I bought a couple beers.

...But it was more than that. I bought a couple beers with Bitcoin.

...But it was more than that. I bought a couple beers in Lugano Switzerland with lightning, through Zeus wallet with my own lightning channel, connected to Alby Hub, running on my Start9 node, on my shelf in my office back home in Canada.

So yes, I just bought a couple beers. But it was fucking exciting.

Did you install Alby Hub over an existing instance of LND on your Start9 with open channels? If yes, how?

What's the name of the shop? How much did you pay? Have prices been stable? How does the business pay its suppliers?

I can imagine how happy you were. But somehow I got tired just thinking about how much work it was for you to do this. The energy you used, which could have been used on other projects. It makes me think that it's not scalable, which makes it very difficult for the community to get on board. It woul...

Man I barely didn't get it.

and on top of that, a couple of strangers zapped you sats to buy even more🧡 what a beautiful world it could be

This is my goal for 2025. Maybe not for beers in Lugano, let’s instead make it beers in Vegas at the end of May.

yeah I know that feeling!

It’s really cool that it just worked and that you were in control of pretty much all of it. Things should be like this without being told when and where you can spend your money.

Doing too much. Global adoption may be just a little longer than I anticipated 😔
