Find a middle ground, close enough to cities that if you need to get something you can but far enough out that screaming yee haw won't get you any weird stares lol

Portugal. Civilized enough yet a little bit savage. European enough, yet a little bit Mediterranean. People are kind enough but a little bit impolite. And they speak "Brazilian" with a strange accent. (But most speak fluent English)

Stay in cities. Improve them. So we can go back.

Let me give you my unsolicited advice on this matter. Two things really. One. Dont bring the shitty to the country. Theres a reason you left, we dont that shit out in the country. Two. Dont be a city slicker in the country, youre gonna have a bad time. Embrace the slower paced life.

I live in a small town, very nice and near nature. Nature on my doorstep. I walk around the suburb everyday. Spectaular place and has everything I need. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worcester%2C_South_Africa?wprov=sfla1

Oh absolutely. When young, cities gave me energy and options. Now old, they drain me and repel me. nostr:npub1uense4apn73tvh4u20tzlp6u72g4kdustzsm0k0sqy6yuwh5jxlsy97y76 too. We do not drink alcohol, smoke, or do drugs, so the need for city life is less insistent.

Was a city boy too. I like not living in the city now, BUT also be within reasonable driving distance when I need to tap into the energy and chaos. Not ready for hermit yet

They’re not bad not all of them and you have to do what works for you. You can’t listen to everybody else.

The problem with cities is when unrest happens it always starts there. Depending on what city and how big it is, maybe consider have a bug out location instead Say something 50-100 miles out. You could use it as a weekend get away. Also nice to find a homesteader group or a group of like minded peop...

I just drove to Florida so I can be closer a city to be able to earn more money to stack sats. I sleep in my van to keep my expenses low. I've now evacuated Florida because of the hurricane in SC now. Might go back to Austin TX. interesting take.

My wife and I moved to the hills just east of Sacramento last year. The solitude has been indescribably healing to my head, heart, spirit, and soul. Honestly, though, it feels as though I’ve β€œgotten it out of my system” and we both are dying to move closer to town; not a city, since we both gr...

Just my humble opinion, cities aren’t inherently bad. Depends on your own individual concerns, needs, and wants. For people considering big moves it may be best to rent while you are getting a feel for a new area and deciding what works best for you.
