There is a particular nuance that is unique to converts to Islam where it is somehow assumed that we aren't convinced and that our embrace of Islam is wrapped up in emotional baggage rather than Divine transformation. I personally find it insulting and absurd. Who would sacrifice family and social relations for anything without full certainty of conviction?
