Explanation for how scammers are using fake @primal.net verification to scam primal users.

Primals caching servers allow scammers to impersonate their users by showing any @primal.net input as a valid nip 05

If your nip 05 is anything else primal will check that it's actually valid, and other clients will check if a primal nip 05 is actually valid.

So the risk of getting scammed or impersonated by fake nip 05 verification only applies to primal users.

Primal's NIP-05 verification service works like any other Nostr NIP-05 verification service. All Primal clients verify NIP-05s on the client; same way as other Nostr clients. That's why Primal clients don't show the verified badge next to the account that tries to spoof the NIP-05. The indexer plays...
