AI companies should be 99% public owned. And I know that sounds batshit crazy to capitalists but I firmly believe this is the only way to make it just considering these companies distilled the entirety of human knowledge.

Problem is, even if you do this, it will still be very insignificant to any single person. It literally won’t matter one bit.

Or we could just, like, pull the plug on the "intellectual property" experiment. We already knew patent-buying megacorps are less inventive than tinkerers, and less creative than memers. Now we know AI outdoes them all, so why use state resources to subsidise a failed business model?

the method they used to do so is literally open source. you can literally get together with your buddies and either run pre trained open weights model or train one yourself (costlier, but the bulk or rnd costs has already been sunk)
