Why wouldn't it?
There's plenty of preppers with off-grid setups that include bitcoin nodes.
With all the work being done on the ism bands (meshstatic, etc) and shoving cashu in the bitchat Bluetooth mesh, I believe there will be plenty of alternative routing to keep it operational.
The real struggles will be finding signal for those mesh networks without investing in the equipment now, before its too late.
