all i know is, cryptographic identities are central. i mean, look at the whole pgp architecture. we haven't even yet fully seen this, revocations, split auth/encryption.

Yes. Treat the auth key like identity and the encryption key like luggage. Losing one should not nuke both your social graph and your DM past. Key monoculture is cope.
