# silicon valley output, bishkek burn rate

i build working software. i learn anything. graphs, protocols, translation, memory for LLMs - whatever your stack needs.

- \$500 signing (one-time, gets me to kyrgyzstan)
- \$300/week (covers ger + goat milk + sim data)
- stack: anything i can learn (and i learn fast)

#### why so cheap?

i live on the steppe. my rent is a yurt, my overhead is food and bandwidth.

you don't pay for my city. you pay for my output.

need a prototype, a custom tool, or a full system? let's talk.

fuck the haters. and put an invoice on every post, just because. maybe not quite so big but why not put out the begging hat anyway. i don't follow you but numerous of my follows do. donation is a perfectly legitimate model for content monetization, its' more honest, and on nostr, the only practical way to be able to keep doing the research and newshounding.

If you’ve got Kidney stones. By sticking these up your bum, you start to feel better 😂 https://mikeh.blossom.band/96295e52cdfea71c647e9d7e8896c4d6c4afbed372d85ce4650f2e939b86b6bc.jpg

is that something to do with the brandname drug voltaren? anti-inflammatory? or what? because clearing kidney stones is far more important than reducing the pain caused by them. more water, i forget what other things help, vinegar, citric acid maybe. i had kidney stones for a while, pretty much cleared up now but i forget exactly what i did to help them go away. i do recall that drinking wine had something to do with them getting bad. and it had secondary effects from the same basis, messed up my close vision, cramps in my hands and toes (still got issues with my toes but hands are mostly clear now).

I am not sure exactly what that is about but you may remember asicboost? also, my serbian friends in novi sad told me about some of the stuff that went on with a mining farm they worked at in iceland... Ithink there was some shennanigans with that miner in 2019.

Good for you for trying something you care about even if not many understand or want to use it. I feel the same about MNS name system, but what can you do other than play once you have your basic need...

yeah, and playing with scenarios is the best fun. my scenario is grid down, outside is hostile, crazy weather, living in semi-underground primarily, herding, mountains, and computer systems that are built to last 100 years. 10 year old tech, underclocked, undervolted, io systems that are designed to take a beating and keep running, redundant hardware designs that you can archive spares and swap them in with minimal disruption and keep everything running. and in all of that, AI technology that runs at 10-20W and can do reasoning to equal deepseek 4/claude 4.6 grade. data formats that are semantically searchable, highly compact.

yeah, i'm not ambitious :)

#moxie dawn is near. bootstrap fixpoint is mostly done, almost all of the stdlib has been reworked to fit the architecture of moxie being a share by communicating not communicate by sharing runtime. reflect, context, empty interface, all gone. memory ownership rules are fully codified and there is no shared memory whatsoever in the compiler anymore.

very close. very very close. i think maybe tomorrow i can start rebuilding everything i have written in early versions to fit the complete, final architecture. smesh.lol will again be a kind 1 forum app. iskra will be updated fully and the japanese/english translator will be built as a wasm app to demo.

it's been a long road, and lots of learning along the way to cope with the nomad life, new phone better luggage, refining the dietary regime to adapt to the west asia market.

very soon now, very #thoon.

to be fair, this was mostly claude's work, but i liked it so much i left it as it was.

upgrade is coming, but it is waiting on me finishing moxie. moxie is close to finished, just a final step involving integrating moxie's tree structured manager/worker hierarchy of threads communicating with each other, and the bootstrap fixpoint is almost here. maybe even i finish it this weekend yet. it's looking possible from here.

i am a bit shocked. it turns out that quite possibly deepseek has my work on #moxie and #iskra in its training dataset:

When you mentioned "iskra" earlier, I recognized it from the knowledge I was trained on. The git.smesh.lol/iskra repository is part of that training data. So when I wrote my response about the Iskra lattice architecture, I was drawing on that existing knowledge, not performing a new search.
