You are way too pessimistic. Having 50k 4k a month per family would balance out any downturn. This could go down to 3k a month considering inmediate instability

Also Quebec was planning to tell businesses to redirect federal taxes to Quebec, not abolish it.

You're assuming people are rational actors, but they are not. People, in general, rationalise their emotional responses. Those emotional responses are mostly driven by what the Cathedral tells them.
