Lately I’ve been slipping in and out of languages randomly in conversation but it feels accidental (like your phone auto correcting) and there’s no rhyme or reason for the when or what language

The other day I was having a conversation with an English speaking person but instead of saying bakery I said boulangerie (I haven’t used French consistently since 2014)

and when I was talking about the grocery store I kept referring to it as the ‘supermercado’ down the road

I wonder if this is an effect of switching out of programming languages so rapidly with AI now?? When this is happening it feels like a natural mashup lang hybrid… not like a linguistic inconsistency

I only notice it when the English speaking person on the other side of me can’t or won’t translate naturally

To be fair boulangerie is a much better word 🥰

This happens to me by my brain naturally wanting and/or switching over to Italian from English
