You are absolutely correct. And unfortunately this assumtion comes for nearly every Muslim I and many other coverts have encountered.

Perhaps they think it's the simplest way to connect with you. You know you're convinced deep in your heart, they don't; they can't know. Perhaps this sensational approach worked with them before, and they think it's a good way. I'm sure it's annoying, but don't let the first impressions last for longer than they should.

Perhaps, they're trying to understand your experience. Like I'm doing right now.

I don't doubt that they (or you) have good intentions. I do think that more husn al dhan could be applied though as, sure they don't know our certainty but it doesn't come off well with it being contantly questioned. It's like the "how did you become Muslim?" question. Obviously, well intented but a...
