The coach for the other team is also referee. Does that analogy make it clearer? You cannot have the miners deciding what is valid, which is apparently how Bitcoin works now.
You do not have a fair ...
That analogy does work very well for me. I’m just not seeing how so…
The miners control which transactions they take into the block. But if those miners start trying to be selective with who’s transactions get validated more miners will go online who don’t apply those rules. Mining will become steadily more decentralized. That industry will naturally become more decentralized as the market for mining equipment becomes more widely available at the consumer level.
This all will play out. What I’m not understanding is why does it seem that well versed Bitcoiners are “giving up” (stomping their feet on the ground and walking away) because the inevitable is happening? We all knew mining, as does any industry, will become monopolized at some point if competition doesn’t enter the market space.
Allow this all to play out naturally. Bitcoin is the greatest escape route, freedom tool humanity has ever seen! If one believes this than continue to stack sats and chill. If you have paper hands, that’s fine too, I’m ready to buy/earn your sats.
