Fun fact about huntsman spiders...
In Australia, huntsman spiders are infamous for causing traffic accidents. They love to hide behind car sun visors or dashboards to avoid the heat. When a driver flips down the visor, the spider unexpectedly drops into their lap or onto the steering wheel, causing sudden panic and sudden swerves.

I can vouch for that. Happened to me, although I'm still proud of how I kept my cool in the right hand lane of the freeway, gradually indicating my way through two lanes to calmly guide my car into the emergency lane. Lucky that it was in the days of rolled up newspapers. I swatted it out of the car. 🤣

My other huntsman spider story is being on the phone to a friend to say I arrived home safely after a night out. Single women did that for each other back then. Maybe these days too. Anyhow, I hadn't yet turned on a light and while chatting I noticed a blob on the wall in the dim light. Thought to myself, "I don't remember hanging anything there". So I asked my friend to hang on while I checked. Turned on the light and immediately screamed in my friend's ear! 😂 Then asked her to hang on for a bit longer while I got the vacuum cleaner. After sucking up the monster sized huntsman spider, I got a plastic bag and elastic bands to seal it up and didn't vacuum for quite some time till I knew it was dead. 🫣🤣😂

I did once hear another funny spider story, of a woman walking past a house from which she could hear loud banging and a male voice aggressively calling out, "Die, you bitch! Die, you bitch! Why won't you #%!&*# die?"
So the woman phoned the police to report what she heard. When a patrol car went to investigate, it turned out to be a guy trying to smack down a huntsman spider with his footwear. True story. Reported on news channel which is where I think I heard it, years ago. Hope I relayed it correctly. 🤭😂
