Do people really say it’s worse? At first thought, they’re relatively the same, compared to getting outside or reading a book or something, but I’d think most games are better than TV, cognitively.

Gaming is active, requires problem solving, strategy, reaction time, focused engagement, and will legit get your heart racing. TV is completely passive and sedentary. Whatever the negatives of doing either for 12 hours are, gaming is by far the better option for your mind and body, imo.

I’d say doing any one thing for 12 hours straight is a bad idea.

Please enumerate any/all activities that you can say you have done “for 12 hours straight” that would elicit applause instead of caution.

By "watching TV" do you mean cable? Binge watching documentary stuff on a streaming service is probably better than grinding in an mmo. The only people watching cable that I know of are 50+ Everyone else is on YT or other streaming services these days.
