Why is it that gaming for 12 hours straight is perceived as worse than binge watching tv for 12 hours straight? I’d argue that gaming is much more mentally challenging. Thoughts?

if directly asked about being "perceived as worse than," most people would likely come to similar conclusions academically. Self-depreciating public admissions of binge-watching serves as a virtue showcasing one's taste in popular media. Games that people invest 12 hours into tend to reject the notion that this social connotation holds any significance. Consequently, the posture prescribed among consumers of mainstream media often harbors hostility towards individuals actively seeking entertainment through different avenues.
