It’s more a slow death… posts don’t delete but they do rely on someone actually hosting them somewhere, so if that doesn’t happen, the post disappears, at least this is my understanding. Happy to be corrected if I misunderstood.

Technically on traditional social media you’re still requesting it to be deleted, you’re trusting them to actually delete it and not just hide it from view. If you’re worried about it too much then you could always post to your own relay and that relay alone, then you would have full control ...

YES agreed! Sometime you just make a horrible post as well. You should be able to delete your post more efficiently/ effectively.

you may hardly have decentralisation and control over things, you are not yourself. Internet may never forgets, if something was public.

The same way an npub is allowed to post notes by signing them, same way it should work for them to sign a request to delete them instantly. Does anyone with knowledge know why this isn’t technically possible yet?
