⚡️💻 NEW - Windows 11’s Weather app is using surprisingly large amounts of RAM.
In a recent test by Windows Latest, the Weather app used more than 1.2GB of RAM while running on Windows 11.
For comparison, Apple’s Weather app on macOS used around 247MB in the same type of test.
That makes the Windows app roughly 5 times more memory-hungry.
The reason is that Microsoft’s Weather experience is built around WebView2, meaning it relies on web-based Chromium processes rather than being a traditional Windows app.
And despite using all that memory, the app also shows ads and sponsored content.
