As someone who only understands the broad strokes of this struggle, I'm always confused when I see someone as technical as Chris take this position. I don't know him well or anything, but he's always seemed smart and logical, yet from best I can tell the csam (in particular) argument holds no water.

Having had in-person discussions with him, where he's quite measured and understands nuanced points, it's quite surprising to see him talk like this. Mixture of his religious positions and X algo bubble perhaps.
