My longest held job was on staff at a day center for adults with disabilities. The organization was very focused on community involvement and getting out in nature. We did a lot of hiking, park walks, and volunteering at food and clothing banks. Fortunately, the people we interacted with out in the world treated us well, but for me the biggest eye opener was how this society is not set up for anyone other than a "neuro typical" person. I really appreciate places like Tavon (where I worked) and people like you who take time to make life a little easier on disadvantaged folks.
