I agree, good bread is few n far between in supermarkets. The odd "bakery" counter might have something but not reliable. Fucking diacetyltartaric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids everywhere.

I’ve had great results with Phillips bread makers. Get a model with timer so you can wake up to the smell of great bread. Mess around with the fats and sugars , whole grain , water, honey, olive oil & yeast …. 🤯
