LN is the only payment method you need.

It is the common denominator across all other Bitcoin custody layers (even the BS ones) and unlike directly implementing a specific custodial protocol, you have no risks beyond your current LN setup.

Exactly. LN increasingly is used to link different payment "islands" -- LN, ecash, Spark, Ark, onchain swap, etc. OTOH, it will be used less as the "last mile" of the payment. Lightning capable wallet > Lightning wallet
