@nprofile1q... No, she's pretty much always been like this as long as I've known her. (15 years or so). She's always been obsessed with money concerns and death. It's incredibly wearing to be around.

This just feels like it's accelerated her cycle because father-in-law's not around to interrupt her/change the subject.

I'm fairly certain she's somewhere on the autism spectrum, further exacerbated by a stroke a few years ago.

I wish she had some sort of joyful hobby she could focus on. She plays piano, but I'm not sure she actually enjoys playing the piano. 🤔
