I was in a school IT dept when we rolled out laptops for some schools. The only reason we did it was so the director of IT could justify his position in the district. There was zero evidence that laptops were any better than text books.

Also, half the time the damn things didn’t work and were slow af. I really felt bad for kids sitting around waiting for the damn things to do one thing.
