the bugs are because apple actively suppresses open development. they have been doing that since they canned the apple 2 in the early 90s. you should really reconsider your choice of hardware provider...
Yeah, I'm branching out some, slowly. The thing is, Macs are the most enjoyable machines to use for most things. I was mostly a windows guy for a long time, cuz of work, but am full Mac at home these days
