What is the best way to post 5-30 minute vloggy podcasty videos on nostr? If I try to embed them directly will that work or will that suck and never post? Videos on my feed never play half the time and they always pause and buffer forever and I don’t know why I assume it’s my phone. Do I need to use like Fountain to host the videos and then link to that? HELP ME ALL YOU SOFTWARE FREAKS

I make sure to decompress my videos as much as possible, and I use Internet archives to host. You can use YouTube too it's probably easier but I figured I'm trying to develop workflows to avoid legacy social media stuff so that's more in line with that. Also I'm terrible at posting videos so don't ...

One thing is, to not upload them to Primal's media servers.

Hosting long videos directly on Nostr is messy—clients aren’t optimized for it yet. Fountain or IPFS (via something like Zapped) is smarter for now. Side note: saw an article today about a $500M bet on war right before Trump’s Iran post—wild how info ops and media collide. https://theboar...

This is where the most friction happens. Did you compress it already? I’d say 5-10 minute videos are best and fastest. Just load them up and let it rip

I use handbrake on Mac. That compresses the file so it will upload faster and have better playback. Still optimizing things on our end to have video play smoothly as you'd expect.

Use re-encoding software like HandBrake, I would recommend one of the “Creator” presets (Web category). Odysee, a decentralized streaming app, recommends bitrates of no more than 8000kbps, which may apply to other sites where video can be streamed.
