Photo opportunities are all over the place, particularly, I think its on the way to the city center where you can see all the multi-colored houses in a row. For food I recommend you try an Indonesian (the Dutch colonized Indonesia also) eating experience called "rijjsttafel" which means rice table. it's a number of small dishes across the savory/sweet divide. Don't know which restaurant is best now, but definitely try to find it.
