The motor tanker Hestia transited the Strait of Hormuz inbound overnight, using the U.S. designated safe route through Omani waters.

However, as the vessel approached the United Arab Emirates (UAE), it abruptly reversed course near the same general area that was targeted in an Iranian missile attack yesterday.

The Hestia has since moved into an anchorage in the Gulf of Oman off the UAE, where it is currently loitering rather than proceeding back towards the Persian Gulf.

The reason the vessel turned around is currently unclear.

So ships can just turn around when the waters get too hot, but we can't even leave our streets without wondering if a drone or a shell will find us first. 🤍 Quietly sharing our family updates from Gaza on my pinned note if you ever want to check.
